The German Elitist Band

Even though they’re rarely seen on stage, their performances are legendary, a somewhat psychotic blend of performance art and music, referring all the while to their audience as idiots. While some are insulted, those fans in the know take this as their cue to drink. They have also been chased out of several clubs in the United States as they are fond of making American jokes between songs. Their purpose has never been clear, some say they are wealthy German nobility, so bored with their lives that they travel the world, emerging to play hastily announced shows. Others think they are former mental patients involved in a radical form of therapy. What is known is that the tradition of the German Elitist Band goes back centuries. The boys disbursed after Eden to very separate ends of the earth. There were very public reunions thru the ages though. Practicing out of a garage on sunny Sunday afternoons, the band grew rapidly by cultivating ideas from their vast influences in music. Such influences, ranging from bebop-style jazz and 70′s funk, to real roots reggae and old school punk rock, has given jenga a uniqueness that is all their own. It hard to describe what genre of music jenga falls into, so rather than give out false impressions, we recommend that you check out a show for yourself. The proof is in the pudding. Although jenga pushes music to transcend the limit and not necessarily force, but encourage folks to listen, the brothers of the band certainly do not offend the ear … but rather massage it with crazy intertwined power to affect.
